AMBOLI is a hill station at an altitude of about 700 m.Situated on the top of ghats on the road between Sawantwadi & Belgaum, it receives around 750 cm of rainfall.It is a hot spot for the herpetofauna.

Breif Description Of The Program : AMBOLI is a hill station at an altitude of about 700 m.Situated on the top of ghats on the road between Sawantwadi & Belgaum, it receives around 750 cm of rainfall.It is a hot spot for the herpetofauna. The best time to visit this place is during the monsoon season. You can witness the real beauty of this place during this season. The mountains will be covered by foggy clouds, mist around, high wind, waterfalls, and heavy rains. You will find the water very cold, a sip of chai will remind you of paradise, and the crispy corns/vadas/bhajis will be the best. Nature here has strange beauty and surprises!!
 
Day wise Schedule:

Day 1 : Reporting at base camp between 11 am to 1 pm. Allotments of rooms. The allotment will be done taking into consideration of family members. 2 OR 3 TO A ROOM. Ladies and gents will have separate accommodation. Lunch. Free time till 14:50 hrs.
15:00 hrs Ruins of Summer Castle & Mahadevgad point.
17:30 hrs high tea. 18:00 hrs walk to Forest Garden or walk on Chaukul Road.
Dinner 21:00 to 22:00 hrs. Lights off at 22:30 hrs

Day 2 : Morning 6:00 wake up. 6:30 to 7:00 hrs breakfast & tea.
7.15hrs proceed toOrigin of Hiranyakeshi River & Nangartas waterfall. Return for lunch at 13:00 hrs.
Free time till 14:30 hrs.
Proceed to Chaukul plateau (Khamdadev) OR Baba Waterfall.
Back to base camp at 18:00 hrs. High tea. 18:30 hrs to 20:30 Forest Garden/Chaulul Rd or a private property for herpatofauna. Dinner by 21:00 hrs pm. Lights off at 22:30hrs.

Day 3 : Morning 6:00 wake up. 6:30 to 7:00 hrs breakfast & tea.
Either walk in Forest Garden or go to Amboli Waterfall. Return to base camp by 11:00 hrs. Packing. Lunch by 13:00 hrs.
After 14:30 Programme is over.
 
Who Can Participate : 10 to 65 years.
How To Reach The Base Camp : Amboli is well connected by plane, railway &bus. The nearest airports are Belgaum in Karnataka&Chipi in Sindhudurg. The approximate distance from Belgaum Airport and Railway station is 70 km. The distance is 68 km from Chipi airport. The nearest Railway station is Sawantwadi road on the Mumbai-Goa Konkan railway.From Sawantwadi road railway station, Amboli is 30 km by bus. You also can opt by travelling to Kolhapur by railway and then onwards by road via Ajra. This route is 128 km by road. The BASE CAMP at Hotel Shivmalhar is located opp Amboli police chowky at Amboli Bazar.

Accommodation Facilities : Rooms. 2 or 3 people per room. Preference is given to family members in allotting the rooms.
Males & females will have separate accommodations if not a family.
Food & Water Supplies : Simple veg& non-veg food and hygenic water will be supplied. breakfast will be veg.
Booking Condition : In multiples of 5 seats. Maximum 10 people per batch.
 
What participants should bring along : T-shirts, track pants, spare clothes, raincoat/poncho, cap, water bottle, sports shoe/gumboot, sleeper, Leech Guard socks,personal medicines, bedsheet, towel, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, tit-bits of food, quality torch,YHAI Card,etc.
 
Additional Notes : Walks around Forest Garden and Chaukul road during the night depends on the forest department’s permission.
These are monsoon walks. Trekkers may experience the fury of rains, high wind, mist, or cloud cover. Too much rain sometimes confines one to the shelter of a room. If a pre-planned programme is lostdue toweather the organizers will not be responsible. The organizer keeps the right to change the schedule.
Sometimes one may experience a Leech bite. Not to worry. Immediately bring it to the notice of the leader. Do not try to pull off the leech.
However all theprecautions are taken we will not be responsible for any mishap, accident, or theft.
 
Safety & Security : Expert guide will be on the tour. Insurance of each participant is taken.
 
Cancellation Policy : 25% amount will be cut if we receive notice of cancellation by email, 7 days before commencement of the batch date.
