Dayara Bugyal is perhaps one of the most beautiful alpine meadows in India. The panoramic view of the Himalayas from Dayara Bugyal is breathtaking.


Program

Breif Description Of The Program : Dayara Bugyal is perhaps one of the most beautiful alpine meadows in India. The panoramic view of the Himalayas from Dayara Bugyal is breathtaking. Situated at an elevation of about 3750 m, Dayara Bugyal is second to none in natural beauty and perfect for the beginners. Dayara Bugyal trek goes through open stretches and dense forest at different places. Each and every campsite on the trail of this trek is extremely beautiful and scenic. Since this trek is an easy one, it is a great option for beginners. Experienced trekkers can also enjoy Dayara Bugyal as the trail is refreshing and not very crowded.
The whole trek is scenic and passes through forest, lake, and meadows. One gets to see several snow-capped peaks of Greater Himalayas during the trek.
 
Schedule Of Programme :
Day – 1 : Report at Dehradun Railway Station and drive to Uttarkashi Camp (163 kms)
Reach Dehradun Railway Station/Dehradun Hill Bus Station at 08.00 AM. Dedicated transport will be arranged for pickup from Dehradun Railway Station to Uttarkashi. Generally it takes 8-9 hrs depending upon the road conditions. The scenic beauty that you see along the route will definitely make you feel refreshing and like travelling to heaven. The route will be Dehradun- Mussorie- Almas- Chinyalisaur – Uttarkashi. Arrival at Uttarkashi by evening, orientation and briefing about trekking programme will be given in evening. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day – 2 : Uttarkashi to Raithal (7096 ft.) by Jeep 43 km (1.5 hrs) and trek to Gui (9750 ft. , 4 km approx, 4-5 hrs trek)
After breakfast the group will move for Raithal by Jeep. Raithal is the roadhead for the Dayara Bugyal. The drives take you through lovely forest stretches along with Bhagirathi River. After reaching Raithal the trek will begin, the trail from Raithal to Gui is a gradually ascending one and bit steep but worth, the trek today will take you through the gorgeous farm fields of Raithal village, scenic small clearings and dense oak and rhododendron forest. After a thrilling 4 hours trek, you will reach Gui Campsite, which is a small clearing surrounded by forests.
Day – 3 : Trek from Gui (9750 ft.) to Chilapada (9842 ft. , 3-3.5 hrs)
Today the trek to Chilapada is an easy hike, mostly through the forest which will take 2 hrs-3 hrs. Throughout the hike, you will have a picturesque view of other mighty Himalayan peaks. Chilapada is pretty close to the start of Dayara Bugyal gives you almost the whole day to explore the Dayara Meadows. Your overnight stay will be in Chilapada Campsite.
Day – 4 : Trek from Chilapada (9842 ft.) to Dayara Top (11829ft. ) and back
After breakfast, we will go for Dayara Bugyal and we will reach the lush green meadows of Dayara, locally known as Bugyals. These meadows are vast and undulating with a view of mighty Himalayan peaks. While trudging on these meadows, you will be awestruck by the colourful flowers blooming all around.
Continuing on the meadows, you will reach the final climb. We can see the magnificent view of Bandarpoonch, Black Peak and Gangotri ranges very close. Enjoy the picturesque view all around and return to Chilapada campsite.
Day – 5 : Trek from Chilapada to Barsu and back to Uttarkashi (2-3 hrs journeys)
After Breakfast we will trek down to Barsu via Barnala and will go to Uttarkashi base camp by Jeep. Recreation activity and certificate distribution ceremony in evening.
Day – 6 : Check Out after Breakfast
 
Who can Participate : This expedition is open to YHAI members who are 15 to 60 years.
 
How To Reach The Base Camp :
By Air : Dehradun’s airport is the Jolly Grant Airport, which is located 27 km approx away from the railway station. All airlines have regular flights to Dehradun. Mostly flights arrival time is around afternoon.

By Bus : Dehradun is well connected to most cities such as Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh by Volvo, Deluxe, semi-deluxe and Uttarakhand State Transport buses. These buses arrive and depart from the Dehradun Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) near Clement Town. Buses depart from here every 15 minutes to one hour. Other bus terminals in Dehradun are the Mussoorie Bus Station, located at the Dehradun Railway Station which has regular bus services to Uttarkashi.
By Train : Dehradun is connected by regular train services to cities Delhi, Lucknow, Allahabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ujjain, Chennai and Varanasi. The Dehradun Railway Station is located 1-2 kilometers away from the city centre and should take you only ten minutes, depending on traffic. Dehradun is connected to the rest of the country by trains such as the Shatabdi Express, Jan Shatabdi Express, Dehradun AC Express, Doon Express, Bandra Express and the Amritsar-Dehradun Express among others.
Road/Self Drive : A popular tourist destination, Dehradun has a strong road network, which makes for a pleasant driving experience. Dehradun is well connected by road to cities like Delhi by the NH 58 and 72 is approximately a 4 hour drive. Dehradun is also well connected to cities like Haridwar and Rishikesh

Food & Supplies : Simple, nutritious vegetarian meals will be provided.
Accommodation Facilities : Accommodation in Hotel/Tent on sharing basis will be provided.
 
Special Casual leave : The Trekking Expedition organized by Youth Hostels Association of India have the approval of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Dept. of Personnel And Training), Government of India, vide Office Order no. 28016/3/89-Estt (A), Dated 25 October, 1989. Participants working in the Central Govt. Organization can apply to the authorities concerned for availing special casual leave for the duration of the expedition. This leave can be sanctioned by their office up to 30 days in calendar year.
 
Certificates : Participants, who successfully complete the trek and abide by the discipline of the program, will be awarded certificates.

Documents required at the time of reporting : 1) Admit Card, 2) YHAI Membership Card, 3) Two Passport Photograph, 4) Medical Certificate (Compulsory) 5) Copy of Aadhar / Id Address Proof
 
Additional Notes :
1. Smoking, use of alcohol and narcotics of any description is strictly prohibited during the course of the program.
2. Deviation from the set route of the program is not permitted. If participants may wish to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the program and checking out.
3. Stay other than YHAI Camp is not allowed for the entire duration of the camp.
4. This is an environment friendly trek. Do no litter any wrappers or spoil the trial in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and deposit at the next camp.
5. Burning of woods during camp fire is strictly prohibited.
6. Medical Certificate is compulsory; you have to summit Medical Certificate at the time of reporting.
If found flouting the rules, your participation will be terminated with immediate effect.
 
Safety & Security : Trained/expert camp leaders will be available for guidance. Medicines will be available in the camp. First aid/ basic medical assistance shall be provided. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, The Youth Hostels Association of India, Delhi State Branch will not be responsible for any accidents, illness and any such unforeseen eventualities.
 
Cancellation Rules :
In case you are unable to join this trek you will get 50% of the prog. Fee which is Rs.4250 /- as refund, provided your online cancellation request is received before 25 September 2022(positively). Any request received after the last date of cancellation will not be considered.
Participants who have booked online should cancel online before 25 September 2022 (http://yhaindia.org/program-cancellation.php).
Any unforeseen event / strike or natural calamity will not be considered as a cause of cancellation. Refund will be given after completion of the programs.
