Deoriatal Chandrashila Chopta trek starts from the Sari village of Rudrapriyag district of Uttrakhand and is famous for the beauty of Deoriatal lake which is situated at an altitude of 7800 feet.

Breif Description Of The Program : Deoriatal Chandrashila Chopta trek starts from the Sari village of Rudrapriyag district of Uttrakhand and is famous for the beauty of Deoriatal lake which is situated at an altitude of 7800 feet. The trekking route passes through the beautiful Meadows variety of jungles at Deoriatal which has its opening at Rohini Bugiyal. The forest consist of unique biodiversity, refreshing and fresh air and mesmerizing scenic beauty.
Chopta is the most beautiful and famous tourist destination like a true paradise for bird watcher and wildlife photographer. Due to its amazing beauty it often been called as mini Switzerland in India.The ample species of birds and the highest Lord Shiva Temple, the Tungnath Temple are the main attraction in this area.
Chandrashila Peak is well knowns for its 360 degree view of Mighty Himalayas include Nanda Devi peak Mt. Nandani Parwat , Mt. Janhukut , Mt. Chaukhamba and other unnamed mountain peaks. The birds seen in this region are Himalayan Swiftlet, Crested Goshwawak, Snow Partridge, Himalayan Griffon, Mountain Hawk Eagle, Golden Eye, Hill Partidge, Koklas Pheasant, Himalayan Monal, Maroon Orilo, Cheer pheasant, Long-billed and Pied Thrush, Chestnut-Crowned Warbler, Scarlet Finch, Sport-winged Rosefinch.
Mandatory : Trekking Medical Certificate will be compulsory at the time of reporting only (with 30 days of validity ) duly signed by registered Medical Practitioner (MBBS / MD only) along with his registration no. and stamp. (soft copy of medical certificate will not be accepted)
 
Day wise Schedule:
Day 1 : Reporting at Base camp Sari Village
Day 2 : Orientation and acclimatization
Day 3 : Trek from Base camp to Deoriatal for night stay (5kms,4hrs)
Day 4 : Trek from Deoriatal to Chopta/Baniyakund via Rohini bugiyal (18Kms,7-8hrs)altitude gain10200ft.and night stay at Chopta (20 Kilometers)
Day 5 : Trek from Chopta/Baniyakund to Chandrashila peak (13000feet) via Tungnath temple(12000ft) and back to chopta and transfer by jeep /taxi from Chopta/Baniyakund to base camp Sari village
Day 6 : Checkout after breakfast

Purpose Of The Programe: The Purpose Of The Programme To Expose The Yhai Members To A Greater Height And Inculcate Among Them A Spirit For Adventure And Love For Nature And Outdoor, Thus Promoting National Integration In The True Sense.
 
Who can Participate: Any YHAI member between the age of 18 years and 60 Years can participate in the programme. YHAI membership is mandatory to participate. Under age and above age may contact the National Office for consideration of their special request. Admission will be at the discretion of the management.
Members desirous of joining this program may apply online and offline duly supported by a ‘Trekking Medical Certificate.
 
How To Reach : One has to pick the bus at ISBT Haridwar or Rishikesh for Rudrpriyag by 6 am and the bus takes around 7-8 hours to reach Rudrapriyag. From Rudrapriyag sharing taxi service is available direct for Sari village or till Ukhimath. And Taxi service is also available from Ukhimath to Sari village. Before starting of the program, we will form the whatsApp group for each reporting batch with the aim to help you in arranging transportation from Rishikesh.
Nearest Railway station is Haridwar and Rishikesh and nearest airport is Jolly Grant airport Dehradun (56 kms. from Haridwar)
 
How to Participate :
Online Booking : Members desirous of joining this programme may apply online though website: www.yhaindia.org by paying requisite program fee Rs. 8500/- .
We accept Net Banking, Debit Card and Credit Card payment on www.yhaindia.org for online payments.
After successful transaction Admit Card will be generated. Participant has to carry “Admit Card”, “Trekking Medical Certificate” & “Membership Card, two passport size photographs at the time of reporting to the Base Camp.

Offline Booking : Members desirous of joining this programme may apply on the prescribed “Trekking Registration Form” duly supported by a “Trekking Medical Certificate”, along with a Demand Draft of requisite amount of Rs.8500/- in favour of “Youth Hostels Association of India” payable at New Delhi. The Trekking registration Form, Trekking Medical Form and Demand Draft may be sent to following address:
All Offline Booking confirmation is subject to availability of seats. National Office will send the Admit Card along with confirmation letter to the participant at the address mentioned in “Trekking Registration Form”.

Notice to Participant :
1. Smoking, use of alcohol and narcotics of any description is strictly prohibited during the course of the program.
2. Stay other than YHAI Camp is not allowed for the entire duration of the camp.
3. This is an environment friendly trek. Do no litter any wrappers or spoil the trial in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and deposit at the base camp.
4. Burning of wood during camp fire is strictly prohibited. Import of any bio Non- degradable Material in Himachal Pradesh is an offence.
 
Special Cases for participation : On the special case if the person is medically fit and a regular trekker than he can be allowed for participating in offline mode (decision will be final only on management discretion and seat availability). In this case, he/she has to produce Indemnity bond on rs 100/- bond paper from his respective state with duly notarization and has to submit the same along with his Registration form.
 
Notice to Participants at the time of reporting : YHAI membership card or Receipt of payment for membership fees and Admit card, original Medical Certificate & two Passport size photographs is must to enter into the Base Camp. Without these documents participating members will not be allowed at Base Camp.

Special Casual leave : The Trekking Expedition organized by Youth Hostels Association of India have the approval of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Dept. of Personnel And Training), Government of India, vide Office Order no. 28016/3/89-Estt (A), Dated 25 October, 1989. Participants working in the Central Govt. Organization can apply to the authorities concerned for availing special casual leave for the duration of the expedition. This leave can be sanctioned by their office up to 30 days in calendar year.
Certificates : Participants who will successfully complete the trek and abide by the discipline of the program will be awarded certificate.

Justice TPS Chawla Scholarship for underprivileged Girls : YHAI announced Justice T.P.S. Chawla Memorial Adventure Scholarship for underprivileged girls for participation in YHAI adventure activities. Girls whose family income is less than Rs.100000/- p.a. can avail this scholarship. Applicant has to submit the salary certificate of their parents. In case of Business, she has to submit their income on an affidavit. Deserving participants may apply to the National Office YHAI supported by relevant document / certificates.
Off the beaten Siddharth Scholarship for underprivileged Young Men & Women : YHAI announced 50% Off the Beaten Track Siddharth Scholarship of the program fee to provide underprivileged Young Men & Women less than 30 years of age with an opportunity to participate in outdoor adventure activities/ programs by YHAI in various parts of the country. Underprivileged Young Men & Women whose family income is less than Rs. 250000/- p.a can avail this scholarship by applying to the National Office YHAI supported by relevant document/ certificates through their respective State Branch.
 
Accommodation Facilities : Participants will be accommodated in home stay at base camp and in tents at higher camps. The accommodation will be on sharing basis.
Food & Water Supplies : Vegetarian, Healthy &Nutritious Food will be served during the program
 
What participants should bring along : Normal Trekking Shoes·, Flip Flop / Flotters, Socks 4 (2 Woollen· & 2 Cotton) Pair And Gloves 2 Pair, Trousers (Light Weight, Jeans, Cargo Preferably Quick Dry)., Inner Garments (As Per Requirement)., Cotton T-Shirts (Full And Heavy Woollens And Jacket., Wind Cheater (Upper· & Lower With Hoods, Preferable Water Repelled), Rain Coat/ Set/Poncho, Sweater. And Woollen Cap., Sun Glass (Any Colour Other Than Blue), Daysack/Knapsack, Power Bank (As Per Your Requirement), Trekking Poll ( As Required), Gaiter( As Required), Torch (With Spare Cells), Water Bottle, Plate, spoon, Bowl, Mug and Lunch Box leak proof (For Packed Lunch)., Towel, Boroline, Vaseline, Sun protection Cream, personal hygiene kit, needle and thread, washing and bathing soap, Medicine (As per your personal requirement, which you regularly use at home and Crepe Bandage 4in*1, Micropore tape 1/2inch*1, Band-Aids, Cough lozenges/ Kanthil or other, Vicks Vaporub, Cold cream, Clotrimazole cream and powder, Paracetamol*10 Mupirocin cream, Diclofenac gel, Lopamide*10, Azithromycin and Electoral).
 
Safety & Security : Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the Planning of your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp volunteers have been visiting the area to check all details. While every care has been taken to ensure safety,the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, Illness and such other unforeseen eventualities.
 
Cancellation Method :
1) Participants booked online will do online cancellation minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.
2) Participants booked offline will inform their cancellation by email to trekking@yhaindia.org minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.
Only cancellation done as per above method will be eligible for credit shell/refund. The below cancellation policy will however not be applicable if the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date and shall not be eligible for credit shell/refund.

Cancellation Policy :
The Participant, who cancels the programme by serving request minimum 10 days prior to his/her reporting date as per above terms and conditions of “Cancellation Method”, is eligible to get the credit shell or refund as follows:
(a) Credit Shell:-
1) In case you are unable to join the programme due to any reason, you will get a 100% Credit Shell of the participation fees which will be valid till December 2024.
2) If the next programme opted by you is cheaper, you may use the balance amount in any of the Trek till Dec 2024.
3) If the next opted programme is costlier, the trekker has to pay the differential amount.
4) Program opted using the Credit Shell cannot be cancelled again.
5) You may transfer your seat to your family members and friends also. The seats thus transferred cannot be retransferred or cancelled.
6) The credit shell can only be used in booking of adventure programs organised by YHAI. The credit shell will not be used in taking memberships and hostel bookings.
OR
(b) Refund:
Participants can opt for a 50% refund instead of 100% credit shell if they wish to. The conditions of “Cancellation Method” will be the same as mentioned above. The participant has to inform either offline or online minimum 10 days prior to his reporting date. If the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date the refund request shall not be considered.
Note: If any program will be cancelled due to Natural Calamity / Government Restriction / Cancellation of Permission or any other reasons, YHAI will be accountable only for program fees and not other expenses which participants have made for joining the program. In these circumstances the decision for participation fees will be considered by the YHAI and will be bound to all.
