National Trekking Cum Training Expedition-Goa 2023-24


Goa – the land of silvery sands, golden sun and the exciting Western Ghats – is the destination for enthusiastic trekkers to connect with Mother Nature through expeditions organised by Goa State Branch of YHAI.


Program

Breif Description Of The Program : Goa – the land of silvery sands, golden sun and the exciting Western Ghats – is the destination for enthusiastic trekkers to connect with Mother Nature through expeditions organised by Goa State Branch of YHAI. The participants will enjoy a splendid panorama of hills, sandy beaches, refreshing waterfalls, beautiful landscapes, breath taking groves of palm trees, sun kissed waterways, Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and Dudhsagar falls. The hilly trek of Western Ghats provides trekking trails as steep and difficult as the Himalayan climbs. The trekking route will therefore, offer thesame thrills and excitement as in any mountain with some additional attractions like bus ride, and rail journey in the Western Ghats.
 
Day wise Schedule:
Day 1 : Report at base camp-Sport Authority Ground, Campal, Panaji.
Day 2 : Orientation, Mobor Beach to Benaulim Beach [12 kms] (BC to Mobor by bus)
Day 3 : Benaulim to Velsao Beach (10 kms)
Day 4 : Collem to Dudhsagar (10 kms) (Velsao to Collem by train)
Day 5 : Dudhsagar to Kuveshi (12 kms) (Via Dudhsagar waterfalls)
Day 6 : Kuveshi to Anmod (14 kms)
Day 7 : Anmod to Tambdi Surla (15 kms) to base camp by bus.
Day 8 : Check out after breakfast
Please book your seats at the earliest to ensure the desired reporting dates. December is the peak tourist season in Goa hence early booking of trains / buses is necessary.

Who can Participate: Any member of the Association who is physically fit can join the programme. The minimum age for participation is 10.
 
How To Reach The Base Camp : The base camp is located at Sports Authority Ground, Near Miramar Beach, Panaji Goa. The nearest railway stations are Thivim (25Kms), Karmali (12 km) and Margao (33km.). State bus service is available. Direct bus service is also available from Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore & Mangalore. Direct trains are available from Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and major cities of India.
 
How To Join : Book Offline: Registration Form ( click here for downloading registration form ) should be sent along with draft/ at par payable cheque in favour of ‘NATIONAL TREKKING EXPEDITION-GOA’ at C/o Joshi Wines, Opp Old Secretariat, Panaji, Goa 403001.
 
Accommodation Facilities : Tented accommodation
Food & Water Supplies : Morning tea, breakfast, lunch / packed lunch, evening tea and Dinner shall be provided. Simple vegetarian, good quality nutritious food shall be served at the camp. Please bring your own plates, mugs, spoons, tiffin box for pack lunch etc.
 
What participants should bring along : Rucksack (if you have one) cotton shirts, cotton pants/capri, sun cap, Hunter shoes, Slippers, 2 pairs of cotton socks, torch, water bottle, lunch box, mug, plate, spoon, soap, toilet paper, towel, medicines (which you normally use at home).
 
Cancellation Rules :
1) Participants booked online will do online cancellation minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date
2) Participants booked offline will inform their cancellation by email to goastateyhai@gmail.com minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.
Only cancellation done as per above method will be eligible for credit shell. The below cancellation policy will however not be applicable if the request reaches short of 10 days prior to reporting date and shall not be eligible for credit shell.
 
Safety & Security : Extensive and painstaking preparation has gone into the planning of trek routes for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all details. The Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accidents, illness and any such unforeseen eventualities. Deviation from the set route of the program is not permitted. If the participant desires to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the trek and checking out. YHAI group insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only. You are advised to take insurance cover for your journey and other related matters.
 
Cancellation Policy :
1) In case you are unable to join the programme due to any reason, you will get a 100% Credit Shell of the participation fees which will be valid till December 2023. No refund will be applicable for any cancellation of seat.
2) If the next programme opted by you is cheaper, you may use the balance amount in any of the Trek till Dec 2023.
3) If the next opted programme is costlier, the trekker has to pay the differential amount.
4) Program opted using the Credit Shell cannot be cancelled again in any condition.
5) You may transfer your seat to your family members and friends also. The seats thus transferred cannot be retransferred or cancelled.
