KUDREMUKH trekking cum training expedition 2022 is organized by Youth Hostels Association of India, Karnataka state branch and Mangaluru Unit.


Program

Breif Description Of The Program : KUDREMUKH trekking cum training expedition 2022 is organized by Youth Hostels Association of India, Karnataka state branch and Mangaluru Unit . Western Ghats is one of the world’s 25 biological hotspots, in terms of sheer natural beauty and rich biological diversity. Kudremukh is one of the most attractive regions in the Western Ghats.
Kudremukh State level trekking cum training expedition 2022 will commence on 10th november 2022 and concludes on 14th november 2022
 
Day wise Schedule :
Day 1 : Reporting at the base camp, SAMSE after 3.00 pm
Day 2 : Trek to Meruthi Peak (12 kms)
Day 3 : Trek to Kudremukh Peak (18 kms)
Day 4 : Trek to Nethravathi Peak (12 kms)
Day 5 : Check out after breakfast
Note : Participants will have the option, either to checkout on 13th November, 2022 after the trek or stay and checkout on 14th November, 2022 after breakfast.
 
Who Can Participate : The Minimum age for joining the expedition is 18 years. Preference will be given to those participants who have completed both the doses of vaccine. At least one dose of vaccine should have been taken and that too, 30 days prior to the reporting date.
 
How To Reach The Base Camp : The base camp is situated at SAMSE which is 9 kms from KALASA. There are pleny of Buses to Kalasa town from almost all Districts since it is situated on the way to Horanadu Temple.
The base camp is 320 kms from Bangalore and 125 Kms from Mangaluru. Participants coming from Kalasa, can board the buses at Kalasa which goes towards Kudremukh side and get down at Samse stop. Participants from Mangaluru side can get down at Samse.
 
How To Join : Participants should be a member and they can use the trekking registration form available in National office website http://yhaindia.org/downloads.php. It should be duly supported by a Medical certificate which is also available in the above website. Application duly filled and completed in all aspects with Medical certificate need to be sent to Mangaluru Unit, the address of which is given in the brochure. Participants, may scan the Registration form and Medical certificate and mail it to email id mangaloreyouthhostel@yahoo.in. However, original copies need to be sent by post or courier.

Accommodation Facilities : Simple stay arrangements have been made available to the participants in a covered convention hall with separate arrangements for ladies.
Males & females will have separate accommodations if not a family.
Food & Water Supplies : Food will be provided by our experienced cooks and preparation will be done at the Kitchen attached to the convention hall. Water supply will be 24 hours.

What participants should bring along : Cotton shirts, cotton pants, sun cap, sun glass, trekking shoes with good grip, trekking pole, cotton socks, torch with new batteries, 2 water bottles, lunch box, steel mug or tumbler, plate, spoon, pen knife, toilet kit, towel, personal medicines, rain coat/poncho or rain sheet, Sweater or Jacket, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, bed sheets, mosquito repellent, air pillow and original aadhar card, masks and sanitizer.
Participants will be returning to the Base camp every day and hence they need not carry their full luggage during the trek. A small back pack is absolutely required to carry water bottle, lunch box, fruits, personal medicines etc. during the trek.

Additional Notes : The program and trekking route or trekking schedule are subject to change without prior notice, depending upon the weather conditions, natural calamities , unforeseen circumstances or any other decisions or restrictions imposed by the Government from time to time.

Safety & Security : Extensive, painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of trek route for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all details. The Youth Hostels Association of India and the organizers of Mangaluru Unit cannot be held responsible for any accidents, illness and any such unforeseen eventualities. Deviation from the set route of the programme is not permitted. If the participant desires to join in any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk, only after finishing the trek and checking out.

Cancellation Policy : In case, the participant is unable to join the trekking expedition, after paying the participation fee, a sum of Rs.1500/- will be refunded, the request is received at least 7 days in advance from the date of reporting. No refunds will, however be admissible, if the notice period falls short of 7 days
