Tawang is a paradise on earth, about 10,000 feet above sea level, situated in the North Western part of Arunachal Pradesh and only 30-40 KM away from both Bhutan and China.

Breif Description Of The Program: Tawang is a paradise on earth, about 10,000 feet above sea level, situated in the North Western part of Arunachal Pradesh and only 30-40 KM away from both Bhutan and China.. We shall cross the magnificent Sela Pass at an altitude of about 13,700 feet above the sea level, connecting Tawang to the rest of India. Tourism in this area is based around the unique Himalayan landscape and culture, distinct from the rest of India. The program starts from *Guwahati –via- Tezpur – *Bhalukpong – *Bomdila – *Tawang – *Tawang – Bumla Pass – *Tawang – *Dirang – Rupa & back to *Guwahati (* night stays). We shall try to visit maximum important places as per the available time. Tawang in all its glory is a paradise with mountain ridges, untouched greenery and the divinity of Buddhism. Extremely beautiful landscape, pleasant climate, friendly people, Tawang is a perfect getaway for mountain lovers who wish to escape the hectic city life and experience the charm and beauty of Himalayan nature. As Tawang is under the administration of Arunachal Pradesh Government, our programme is totally depended upon the terms & conditions of the then prevailing situation. On contacting at Ministerial level they have assured to support us if any problems arise.

How To Reach The Base Camp: To reach Guwahati
By Train : The city of Guwahati is well connected by Railways, Paltanbazar Station is in the city and Kamakhya Railway Station is about 8 KMs to Paltanbazar in Guwahati.
By Bus : The Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) is about 5 KMs to our YHAI State office and about 15 KMs to Paltanbazar, well-connected by Bus and hired Cars.
By Air : Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is about 25 KMs, from the Guwahati city. Shared Taxi, Pre-paid Taxi and AC Buses are available to Paltanbazar, where we shall be having our base camps in Guwahati.
We start the journey to Tawang the next day early morning the day after reporting at Guwahati base camp.

How To Join: Members desirous to join this program may apply on a prescribed Registration Form available from National Office Website (www.yhaindia.org downloads trekking registration form), duly supported by a Medical Certificate (www.yhaindia.org downloads trekking medical form) , a copy of YHAI Membership ID and details of the payment of registration Fees, all scanned and sent to the Secretary at email: assamstatebranchofyhai@gmail.com as soon as you decide to join and the originals along with the ILP at the time of Reporting. The formats are also attached herewith for your convenience.
 
Accommodation Facilities: Guest House accommodation on sharing basis with separate arrangement for ladies and married couples-(must provide proofs).
Food & Water Supplies: Nutritious and sumptuous food with bottled water will be provided. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with occasional tea, snacks and fruits will be there.

Who Can Participate?
Only members of YHAI above the age of 15 years, can participate with medical certificate due to high altitude travelling ( highest we shall pass through 13,700 ft above sea level) Participants have to bear all travel expenses from their place to the base camp at Guwahati and back from base camp after the program is over.
 
What Participants Should Bring Along: For Indian Nationals: Inner line Permit (ILP) is necessary to enter Arunachal Pradesh, which can be done EASILY, online from your place or we can also make it at Guwahati in advance, if documents are provided to us. Special permission is required to visit Bumla Pass, bordering China, which we shall procure from Tawang Local Authority, if the situation is normal at Bumla. We need to take separate cabs with Arunachal Pradesh registration from Tawang to visit Bumla Pass. If by chance we do not get permission to visit Bumla Pass due to the prevailing situation there, we can go for an alternative picturesque place Zemithang Valley – Lumla from Tawang.
Protected Area Permit (PAP) for foreign nationals is required to visit Arunachal Pradesh and foreign nationals may not be permitted to visit places like Bumla Pass. A PAP can be obtained from all Indian missions abroad and the Foreigners’ Regional Registration Offices (FRROs) in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.
Warm clothes (one Jacket with hood and a pair of inner thermal), Umbrellas, Torch light, Binoculars, Thick socks, Sunscreen cream, Moisturizer, Lip Balm, Personal medical kit and utilities.
 
Additional Notes: This programme is depended upon any decision of the state government, utmost care is taken and will be taken for smooth runnuing of the programme.
this is an environment friendly expedition, please do not litter and in case you find any thing left by others on the way, please Carry the same with you and deposit at the next station in line of swach bharat campaign.
Medical certificate is compulsory which you have to submit at the time of reporting.
 
Safety & Security: First aid and basic medical assistance shall be provided. participants are advised to take personal insurance cover before joining the expedition. the, yhai assam state branch and its guwahati unit will not be responsible for any accidents, illness or any such unforeseen eventualities. we also assure you that all possible care will be taken to ensure your safety and comfort.
 
Cancellation Rules: In case, any member is unable to participate, please apply in writing or email to state secretary at least one month before the schedule date, 50% of the amount excluding on-line charges will be refunded. any request received after the last date of cancellation will not be considered. the amount to be refunded will be done after the end of the entire progrmme of the state.
