Breif Description Of The Program : Youth Hostels Association of India has been organizing various adventure programs for the last 48 years. People from the poles apart cultures and regions participate in our programs and enjoy our economical and budgeted trekking adventures. A large number of volunteers work with dedication, and support us for running these programs.
As a part of the Silver Jubilee Celebration of YHAI National Trekking, in 1995 we introduced the Family Camping Program for the families of our volunteer camp leaders and other functionaries. Encouraged by the success of this adventure and, on the request of our members, we repeated this program in many years till 2013. This year again, we are organizing the Family Adventure Camping Program in Leh, J&K.

Day Wise Schedule :
Day 1 : Reporting (12.00 PM), Acclimatization, and orientation Walk.
Day 2 : Visit Srinagar Route( Sangam, Magnetic Hill, Pathar Sahib Gurudwara, Spituk Monastery, Hall of Fame, & Shanthi Stupa, Leh Palace, Leh Market)
Day 3 : Visit Nubra Valley, Khardungla Pass Stay at Nubra Valley Hotel( Men/Women Separate Sharing Based accommodation in Dorm{Not Family Wise)
Day 4 : Visit Pangong Lake, Changla Pass via Shayok River back to Leh
Day 5 : Vist Manali Route
Day 6 : Recreation Activities & Checkout after breakfast (09.00 AM)
(Participants will have to pay for transportation while visiting all Sightseeing places (Rs.4000 to 5000/-.)Per Person including inner Line permit.)

Inclusion : Food (Breakfast, Pack Lunch, Dinner, Tea Snacks, Health Drink, Soup)
Each Family Each Room Accommodation in Leh Hostel + Sharing Basis in Nubra (Leh 4 Days & Nubra 1 Day)

Who Can Participate?
1. Any YHAI member can participate on first come first serve basis.
2. A family consists of husband, wife and two children up to the age of 12 years. Copy of Age proof must be attached with application forms or must be submitted at the time of reporting at the Base Camp. Photographs of the Family Head must be attached on the forms. Third Child will be charged extra.
3. A single person does not constitute a family and shall not be registered for the camp. Parent of very small children should arrange for their bottle feed.
4. Photo ID Proof of the head of the family should be attached with the application form, to be produced at the time of reporting at the base camp.
5. For children above (Above 12 years & 18 Years of age Rs.1000/-& 2000 per person will be charged. The extra person we will not allow apart from family. ( Husband, wife and two children up to the age of 18 years only Double Bedded Room will be given)
6. Husband & Wife’s membership is mandatory children’s are Above 18 years Membership is Mandatory.

How To Reach The Base Camp :
By Bus : Route-1: from Srinagar 434km via Sonmarg, Zozila Pass & Kargil. J&K State Road Transport Corporation operates regular bus services between Srinagar and Leh on this route with overnight halt at Kargil.
Route-2: from Manali 474km via Keylong, Baralacha, Tanglangla & Upsi. Himachal Pradesh Tourism, HRTC and J&K SRTC operate daily Deluxe and ordinary bus services between Manali and Leh. The bus journey between Leh and Manali with an overnight halt at Keylong or Darcha.
By Air : Major Airlines operate daily flights from Delhi/Jammu/Srinagar
By Train : The closest railway stations are Jammu, Pathankot or Chandigarh, both at least three days away by bus.

Accommodation Facilities : One room shall be given to each family. Mattresses, pillow and blankets shall be provided. A toilet-cum bathrooms block is available at the base camp.
Food & Water Supplies : Nutritious Vegetarian meals,
 
What Participants Should Bring : Woolens, Cotton Shirts, Slacks, Cotton Pants, Sun Cap, Shoes, Socks, Enameled or Steel Mug/tumbler, Plate, Spoon, Water purifying tablets, Penknife, Needle, Thread, Spare buttons, Goggles, Cold cream / Vaseline, Soap, Toilet Paper, Towel, Rain sheet, Medicines (As per your personal requirement, which you regularly use at home and Crepe Bandage 4in*1, Micropore tape 1/2inch*1, Bandaids, Cough lozenges/ Kanthil or other, Vicks Vaporub, Coldarin, Clortrimazole cream and powder, Paracetamol*10 Mupirocin cream, Diclofenac gel, Lopamide*10, Azithromycin and Electral), Camera with extra batteries.
 
Safety & Security : Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of mountain biking routed for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all details. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities.
Smoking, use of alcohol and narcotics of any description is strictly prohibited during the course of the program.
 
Cancellation Rules :
1) Participants booked online will do online cancellation minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.
2) Participants booked offline will inform their cancellation by email to trekking@yhaindia.org, minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.
Only cancellation done as per above method will be eligible for credit shell. The below cancellation policy will however not be applicable if the request reaches short of 10 days prior to reporting date and shall not be eligible for credit shell.

Cancellation Policy :
1) In case you are unable to join the programme due to any reason, you will get a 100% Credit Shell of the participation fees which will be valid till December 2024. No refund will be applicable for any cancellation of seat.
2) If the next programme opted by you is cheaper, you may use the balance amount in any of the Trek till Dec 2024.
3) If the next opted programme is costlier, the trekker has to pay the differential amount.
4) Program opted using the Credit Shell cannot be cancelled again in any condition.
5) You may transfer your seat to your family members and friends also. The seats thus transferred cannot be retransferred or cancelled.
