How to Reach Leh

  1. By Bus:
  2. From Srinagar (434 km via Sonmarg, Zozila, Kargil)
  3. From Manali (474 km via Keylong, Baralacha, Tanglangla)
  4. By Air: Daily flights from Delhi, Jammu, Srinagar
  5. By Train: Nearest stations: Jammu, Pathankot, Chandigarh (3 days by road)
  6. Note: Only postpaid SIMs work in Ladakh (Airtel, BSNL)

What to Bring

  1. Valid Driving License (International for foreign nationals)
  2. Warm & cotton clothes, jacket, gloves, cap, woollen socks, waterproof gear
  3. Sport/leather shoes, sunscreen, cold cream, first-aid kit, personal medicines
  4. Plates, mugs, water bottle, lunchbox, etc.
  5. Note: Helmets provided. Other riding gear available on rent. No sponsor flags or ads allowed.

Important Notices

  1. Stick to the program schedule. No alternate stays allowed.
  2. Don’t litter. Follow eco-friendly practices.
  3. No campfires using wood; carrying non-biodegradable items is a legal offense in J&K
  4. Paid early reporting allowed (day before)

This is a high-risk motorbiking expedition through Himalayan terrain. Risks include:

  3. Stress/fatigue-related issues

  5. YHAI is not liable for any accidents or health issues but will provide assistance.

Day Wise Schedule

🏍️ 6-Day Ladakh Motorbiking Expedition – Itinerary
Day 1: Reporting & Acclimatization – Arrival in Leh

  1. Arrival, check-in, and documentation
  2. Rest for acclimatization to high altitude
  3. Orientation session on itinerary, safety, and bike handling

Day 2: Local Sightseeing Ride (Approx. 80 KM)

  1. Bike allotment and day briefing
  2. Places to Visit:
  3. Sangam – Indus & Zanskar river confluence
  4. Magnetic Hill – Optical gravity illusion
  5. Pathar Sahib Gurudwara – Historic spiritual site
  6. Spituk Monastery – Hilltop monastery views
  7. Hall of Fame – Army museum honoring Indian soldiers

Day 3: Leh → Pangong Lake via Changla Pass (Approx. 180 KM)

  1. Early ride via Changla Pass (17,688 ft)
  2. Hot lunch at Thangtse village
  3. Visit Pangong Lake – Known for its vibrant blue shades
  4. Return to Thangtse for dinner & overnight stay

Day 4: Thangtse → Nubra Valley via Shyok River (Approx. 140 KM)

  1. Scenic ride along Shyok River
  2. Explore Hunder – Sand dunes & double-humped camels
  3. Optional (paid) activities: camel ride, ATV ride
  4. Overnight stay at Nubra Valley, Hunder

Day 5: Nubra Valley → Leh via Khardungla Pass (Approx. 130 KM)

  1. Visit Diskit Monastery – Buddha statue & panoramic views
  2. Ride over Khardungla Pass (17,982 ft) – Among world’s highest motorable roads
  3. Return to Leh for overnight stay

Day 6: Departure

Cancellation Policy

✅ Cancellation Method:

1️⃣ Participants booked online will do online cancellation minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.

2️⃣ Participants booked offline will inform their cancellation by email to 📧 trekking@yhaindia.org minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.

⚠️ Only cancellation done as per above method will be eligible for credit shell/refund. The below cancellation policy will however not be applicable if the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date and shall not be eligible for credit shell/refund.

📜 Cancellation Policy:

The Participant, who cancels the programme by serving request minimum 10 days prior to his/her reporting date as per above terms and conditions of “Cancellation Method”, is eligible to get the credit shell or refund as follows:

(a) Credit Shell:-

✔️ In case you are unable to join the programme due to any reason, you will get a 100% Credit Shell of the participation fees which will be valid till 31st December 2026.

✔️ If the next programme opted by you is cheaper, you may use the balance amount in any of the Trek till Dec 2026.

✔️ If the next opted programme is costlier, the trekker has to pay the differential amount.

⛔ Program opted using the Credit Shell cannot be cancelled again.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 You may transfer your seat to your family members and friends also. The seats thus transferred cannot be retransferred or cancelled.

🎯 The credit shell can only be used in booking of adventure programs organised by YHAI. The credit shell will not be used in taking memberships and hostel bookings.

(b) Refund:-

💵 Participants can opt for a 50% refund instead of 100% credit shell if they wish to. The conditions of “Cancellation Method” will be the same as mentioned above. The participant has to inform either offline or online minimum 10 days prior to his reporting date. If the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date the refund request shall not be considered.

📝 Note: If any program will be cancelled due to 🌪️ Natural Calamity / 🏛️ Government Restriction / ❌ Cancellation of Permission or any other reasons, YHAI will be accountable only for program fees and not other expenses which participants have made for joining the program. In these circumstances the decision for participation fees will be considered by the YHAI and will be bound to all.
