Cycling Expedition in Kullu-Manali Embark on an unforgettable adventure along the scenic valleys of Kullu and Manali, where cycling meets culture, heritage, and natural beauty. This program is designed to give participants an immersive experience of Himachal’s landscapes, rustic charm, and spiritual heritage while riding through pristine mountain roads
 
Highlights of the Program:
 
1. Riverside base camp stay along the Beas river
2. Cycling through apple orchards, rustic villages, and serene valleys
3. Visits to heritage sites, temples, monasteries, and art galleries
4. Experience the culture of Naggar, Old Manali, and Solang Valley

Participate Information
 
📄 Documents Required at Base Camp
 
1. Medical Certificate (MBBS/MD, valid for 30 days)
2. 2 Passport-size Photos
3. 2 Copies of ID Proof
 
MANDATORY: Trekking Medical Certificate will be compulsory at the time of reporting only (with 30 days of validity ) duly signed by registered Medical Practitioner (MBBS / MD only) along with his registration no. and stamp.. Participants must be physically fit and bring all documents for base camp check-in.
 
🍽️ Food & Stay
 
1. Meals: Simple, nutritious vegetarian food during the trek
2. Accommodation: Shared tents with toilet-bathroom facilities at base camp
 
🚍 How to Reach Base Camp:
 
1. By Road: Regular buses from Delhi, Chandigarh & Punjab to Kullu.
2. By Train: Nearest stations – Ambala & Chandigarh
3. By Air: Nearest airport – Bhuntar
4. 🚌 All buses to Manali pass through Seobagh (Base Camp) .
 
* Notice to Participant
 
1. Smoking, use of alcohol and narcotics of any description is strictly prohibited during the course of the program.
2. Deviation from the set route of the program is not permitted. If participants may wish to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the program and checking out.
3. Stay other than YHAI Camp is not allowed for the entire duration of the camp.
4. This is an environment friendly trek. Do no litter any wrappers or spoil the trial in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and deposit at the base camp.
5. Burning of wood during camp fire is strictly prohibited. Import of any bio Non- degradable Material in J & K is an offence.
 
* Equipments provided by YHAI
 
Food, Tent Stay-sharing basis, MTB geared cycles, helmets, basic gloves, mechanic support, First-Aid
 
* Dress code:
 
Cycling shorts/three quarters/tracks,dryfit/quickdry T-shirts, Jackets, Sun Cap, Trekking Shoes, Socks
 
* Accessories:
 
Goggles, Sipper/1 Ltr water bottle/waterbags,Small tiffin box, Enameled or Steel Mug / tumbler, Plate, Spoon, pen knife,Cold Cream / Vaseline, Soap, Toilet Paper, Towel, medicines which you normally use at home, Camera.
 
* Certificates:
 
Participants who successfully complete the expedition and abide by the discipline of the programme , will be awarded certificate.
 
* Special Casual leave:
 
No special casual leave is applicable for mountain biking program.
 
* Additional notes:
 
Cycle safety & Discipline:
1. The cycles given are to be kept safe. Any damage/theft of cycles due to negligence of participant, the cost will be borne by the participant.
Behavior during camp
2. Participants are expected to behave cordially with each other and staff. Any misbehavior/harassment will be a cause for check-out from camp and also being blacklisted from further YHAI camps.
3. Drugs/Liquor/smoking
4. Intake of Alcohol/drugs and smoking is strictly prohibited during camp. Anyone found doing the same will be immediately checked out from the camp premises
 
Day Wise Schedule
 
Day 1- Reporting
Report at YHAI Base Camp, Seobagh
Base Camp is located at the beautiful riverside of Beas river- rest and relax
Cycle and safety kit distribution, Gear shifting training and practice ride to Kais Monastery
Orientation.
 
Day 2 – Cycling to Naggar Castle (16km-one way)
Ride through the pristine valleys of Kullu through rustic villages and apple orchards to the
famous Naggar Castle made in the local architecture style of Kath-Kuni.
One can also visit the World famous Roerich Art gallery.
Also, visit the Ancient TripuraSundari Mandir just near to Naggar Castle.
Ride back to Seobagh & enjoy evening tea and snacks and cultural get together at night
Dinner and Lights out.
 
Day 3 – Cycling to Old Manali (40km-one way & stay)
Today you will be riding to the ancient and one of the most revered Hadimba Mandir near Old
Manali. Which is the only Mandir dedicated to Hadimba Mata in the world.
You will also visit Manu Temple in Old Manali and may go for a short trek in nearby valley.
Manali Mall is also an attraction and has many shops for memorabilia collection.
One can also visit Vashisht hotspring water.

Evening Tea & snacks ,cultural get together at night
Dinner and Lights out.
 
Day 4 – Cycling to Solang Valley & back to Seobagh (65km)
Ride today through the lush green apple orchard lined roads of Old Manali to one of the most
enchanting valleys of Manali – Solang Valley. Here you can see Paragliders flying like birds in
the blue azure skies.
On the way back you will also visit Nehru Kund where you will be quenching your thirst by
drinking the purest natural mineral water that nature can provide.
Evening Tea & snacks ,cultural get together at night & Certificate Distribution
Dinner and Lights out.
 
Day 5 – Check Out
Today after Breakfast you will be checking out from base camp with lifetime memories and
friends made for lifetime.
 
Note: The route and Schedule of the programme may change without prior notice based on the local condition.
 
Note :- Any unforeseen event / strike or natural calamity or medical issues of participant will not be considered as a cause of cancellation.

While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities.
 
YHAI Group Insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only. You are advised to take personal insurance cover for your journey and other related matters. * Who can Participate:
 
This expedition is open to YHAI members who are 18 years above to 65 years and physically fit. This condition will be adhered to strictly. Under age will not be considered in any case.
 
* How to Participate:
 
Online Booking: Members desirous of joining this programme may apply online by paying requisite program fee along with online booking amount i.e. Rs.8000/- ( Excluding Online Booking Amount). We accept Net Banking, Debit Card and Credit Card payment on www.yhaindia.org for online payments.
 
After successful transaction Admit Card will be generated. Participant has to carry “Admit Card”, “Trekking Medical Certificate”, “Membership Card” (Print out of membership card may also be accepted) at the time of reporting to the Base Camp.
 
Offline Booking: Members desirous of joining this program may apply on the prescribed “Trekking Registration Form” duly supported by a “Trekking Medical Certificate”, along with a DD of requisite amount of Rs.9000/- in favour of “Youth Hostels Association of India” payable at New Delhi. 📝 How to Cancel
 
1. Online Bookings: Cancel via www.yhaindia.org at least 10 days before reporting
2. Offline Bookings: Email cancellation request to trekking@yhainida.org at least 10 days in advance
 
🔁 Cancellation Options (10+ Days Before Reporting)
 
1. Credit Shell (100%)
2. Valid till Dec 2025
3. Usable for any YHAI adventure program (not for membership/hostel bookings)
4. Non-refundable, non-cancelable once booked
5. Can be transferred once to family/friend (non-reversible)
6. Refund (50%)
7. Get 50% refund of program fee
8. No refund if cancelled less than 10 days before reporting

1. Only cancellations via approved methods are eligible
2. If YHAI cancels the program (natural calamities, restrictions, etc.):
3. Only the program fee will be refunded
4. Travel/accommodation or other personal expenses will not be reimbursed
5. YHAI’s decision is final in all such matters
