Breif Description Of The Program :
Valmiki National Park is located in West Champaran district.
In the north, it is bordered by Nepal’s Chitwan National Park and in the west by Uttar Pradesh. Its total forest area comprises about 900 km’ (350 sq mi), out of which the Valmiki Wildlife Sanctuary is 880 km’ (340 sq mi) and spread of the National Park is about 335 km’ (129 sq mi) area. The landscape of Valmiki National Park encompasses foothills the Sivalik Hills with of the cliffs, ridges and gorges, hills, streams and valleys, dense forests, open woodlands, grasslands, swamps and riverine fringe.
Situated in Gangetic plains bio-geographic zone of the country, the forest has combination of bhabar and terai tracts. Boulder and pebble deposits by the Himalayan rivers in foothills characterized the Bhabar tract while the finer sediments deposits feature Terai lands. Older alluvium with sandy soil with variegated clay and loose boulder deposits and artesian flows; lateritic formations on higher contours and newer Alluvium on southern parts with reissuing springs akin to artesian flows. Criss-crossing and meandering rivers, streams and nivulets.
man-made canals; swamps and grasslands are featured on these lands.River Gandak forms the western boundary of Valmiki wildlife sanctuary. It enters in India at Valmikinagar, where two rivulets Sonha and Pachnad joins it, forming a holy confluence “Triveni”. Harha – Masan River system originates from the Valmiki Forests and forms Burhi Gandak River further south. River Pandai flows into Bihar from Nepal in the eastern end of the Sanctuary and meets Masan.

Who Can Participate :
Any YHAI member can participate on first come first serve basis.
A family consists of husband wife and two children up to age of 8 years copy of the birth certificate of children. Must be attached with application form.
How To Reach The Base Camp : Rail- Nearest Railway Station is Bagha (40km.) Bettiah (100km.)

Food & Water Supplies :
Morning tea, breakfast packed lunched evening tea at camp and dinner shall be provided simple vegetarian and good Quality food shall be serving at camp.
What participants should bring along : Woolen jerseys & muffler cotton and cold clothes walking shoes bottles lunch box glass plates and Tiffin box towel and medicines.
Day wise Schedule :
First day – Reporting at base Jangal Camp, before lunch.
After lunch visit Boating and Eco Park Visit and the Local Sightseeing.
Second day – Jangal Safari, Suspension Bridge, Nardevi Temple, Valmiki Ashram and Jata Shankar Temple.
Third day – After Brekfast Camp Brecks, Participants can Visit Nepal Near Valmiki Nagar. (Own Cost)
Safety & Security :
Our experienced camp leader has been visiting the area to check all the details while all care has been taken to ensure safety. YHAI Shahabad unit insure safety but isn’t liable for accidents, illness, or any unforeseen events.
Additional Notes :
1. Stick to the schedule – No personal deviations allowed during the camp.
2. Stay only at YHAI Camp – No outside accommodation permitted.
