Breif Description Of The Program : The festival that began in 2000 is named after the hornbill, a culturally significant bird that symbolizes fidelity, beauty and grace in Naga folklore and ritual. The event includes an exhibition of crafts and handloom products, and a food festival featuring Naga cuisine. It is one of the largest indigenous festivals organized by the state government of Nagaland to promote tourism in the state. The festival pays tribute to Hornbill; the most admired and revered bird for the Nagas for its qualities of alertness and grandeur. The Hornbill Festival is very popular in Nagaland and is also called the ‘Festival of All Festivals. The festival is a powerful expression of Naga culture through great traditional music, dance, and performances.
