Breif Description Of The Program :
The route is specially mapped through the most scenic views and challenging trails of Uttarakhand like Ranikhet and Almora. Through the level is moderate-challenging, the trail offers ample opportunities to test your endurance levels and will power. Starting at the beautiful city of Nainital it moves on to the Beautiful Ranikhet and upper trials of Kasardeviand Almora through the banks of river Kosi. It is just not possible to explain the beauty of the expedition in words! One has to do it to feel it. The trail is one of the most demanding ones getting you closer to extreme challenges and of course, the rewards of picturesque views of the mighty Himalayas. You will also encounter a number of road riding experiences that will keep you wanting for more. The trail combines ever changing panoramas of Himalayas on rough terrain and challenging weather conditions. The extremes of the cycle ride trail intensify the aesthetics of landscape, the vibrant culture and beliefs of local communities.
Mandatory : Trekking Medical Certificate will be compulsory at the time of reporting only (with 30 days of validity ) duly signed by registered Medical Practitioner (MBBS / MD only) along with his registration no. and stamp.

Schedule Of Programme :
Day – 1 : Report at the basecamp Youth hostel Nainital
Day – 2 : Training/Acclimatization, Orientation, Joy Ride in the City
Day – 3 : Cycling from basecamp to Ranikhet Camp {60 Km}
Day – 4 : Cycling from Ranikhet to Kosi , Visit of Katarmal Sun temple on the way {35 Km}
Day – 5 : Cycling from Kosi to Kasar Devi Camp {31 Km}
Day – 6 : Kasar Devi to Ratighat Camp {38 Km}
Day – 7 : Ratighat to Nainital Basecamp {28 Km} Certificate distribution and Recreation activities
Day – 8 : Check out after breakfast

Who can Participate : The minimum age for a member to join the program is 18 years to 60 Years, YHAI membership is mandatory to participate. This condition will be adhered to strictly. Under age and above age will not be considered in any case. Members desirous of joining this programme may apply online duly supported by a “Trekking Medical Certificate”.

Special Allowance Cases : On the special case if the person is medically fit and a regular trekker than he can be allowed in offline mode (decision will be final only on management discretion and seat availability). In this case, he/she has to produce Indemnity bond on rs 100/- bond paper from his respective state and has to submit the same along with his Registration form.
 
How To Reach The Base Camp : The base camp is located at Youth hostel Nainital, 200 meters behind the High Court of Nainital and 3 Km from the Nainital bus stand. Nearest railway stations are Kathgodam (31 Km) and Haldwani (41 Km). Direct Bus and train services are available from Delhi.
 
How To Join : Members desirous of joining the programme may apply through online, on a prescribed Registration Form duly supported by a Medical Certificate. The minimum age for participation is 16.
 
How to Participate :
Online Booking: Members desirous of joining this programme may apply online by paying requisite program fee along with online booking amount i.e. Rs- 8500/-.
We accept Net Banking, Debit Card and Credit Card payment on www.yhaindia.org for online payments.
After successful transaction Admit Card will be generated. Participant has to carry “Admit Card”, “Medical Certificate” & “Membership Card”(Print out of temporary membership card may also be accepted) at the time of reporting to the Base Camp.
Offline Booking: Members desirous of joining this programme may apply on the prescribed “Registration Form” duly supported by a “Medical Certificate”, along with a Demand Draft of requisite amount of Rs.8500/-in favor of “Youth Hostels Association of India” payable at New Delhi. All Offline Booking confirmation is subject to availability of seats. National Office will send the Admit Card along with confirmation letter to the participant at the address mentioned in “Registration Form”.
 
Members can also apply through our YHAI Units or State Branch in their respective area.
N.B: Without admit card and Medical fitness Certificate do not claim your registration as confirmed.
Notice to Participant for any illness or injury:
YHAI Group Insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only. You are advised to take personal insurance cover for your journey and other related matters. Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of mountain biking routed for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all details. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities.
All participants are required to bring their original Photo ID proof.
 
YHAI will provide :
1. tenting& pucca accomodation on sharing basis.
2. Simple vegetarian food.
3. Oxygen cylinder at every camp.
4. Group Insurance.
While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities.
 
What Participants Should Bring Along :
Dress code : Cycling shorts/three quarters/tracks, dryfit / quickdry T-shirts, Sweat Shirts, winter Jackets, winter gloves, thermals/base layers Trekking Shoes, extra socks, Raincoat with hood
Accessories : Cycling Goggles ,Sipper/1 Ltr water bottle/ hydration bag, Small tiffin box, Enameled or Steel Mug / tumbler, Plate, Spoon, pen knife, Cold Cream / Vaseline, Soap, Toilet Paper, Towel, medicines which you normally use at home, Camera.
 
Equipment Provided By Yhai : MTB cycle /Helmet /Knee & Elbow guard /Cycling Gloves /Rucksacks /Reflector jackets.
Personal Cycling gloves/helmets can be brought along (YHAI will be providing the same as well).
 
Additional notes
Cycle safety & discipline : The cycles given are to be kept safe. Any damage/theft of cycles due to negligence of participant, the cost will be borne by the participant.
Behavior during camp : Participants are expected to behave cordially with each other and staff. Any misbehavior/harassment will be a cause for check-out from camp and also being blacklisted from further YHAI camps.
Certificates : Participants, who successfully complete the trek and abide by the discipline of the program, will be awarded certificates.
 
Risk factor : This is a programme involving cycling uphill/downhill on Himalayan Mountain passes with following risk factors:
1. Fall during cycling leading to major/minor injuries.
2. Unforeseen events like Landslides, cloudbursts, storms.
3. Seasonality
YHAI will provide adequate assistance in above circumstances but cannot be held responsible for any risk mentioned or not mentioned above
 
Notice for Participants:
1. Smoking, use of alcohol and narcotics of any description is strictly prohibited during the course of the program.
2. Deviation from the set route of the program is not permitted. If participants may wish to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the program and checking out.
3. Stay other than YHAI Camp is not allowed for the entire duration of the camp.
4. This is an environment friendly trek. Do no litter any wrappers or spoil the trial in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and deposit at the base camp.
5. Burning of wood during camp fire is strictly prohibited. Import of any bio Non- degradable Material in Uttarakhand is an offence.
 
Cancellation Rules :
1. In case you are unable to join the programme due to any reason, you will get a 100% Credit Shell of the participation fees which will be valid till December 2023. The request for cancellation or transfer or postponement must be received by us by email or any written mode before 7 days from the reporting date of your program. After that no request of transfer or refund or postponement will be considered. No refund will be applicable for any cancellation of a seat and credit shell will be provided only.
2. If the next programme opted by you is cheaper, you may use the balance amount in any of the Trek till Dec 2023.
3. If the next opted programme is costlier, the trekker has to pay the differential amount.
4. If the trekker opts for the same programme that was cancelled, he/she will not be charged extra even if the price goes up next year.
5. You may transfer your seat to your family members and friends also.
