Located in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, Brahmatal is a serene high-altitude lake and a year-round trekking paradise. Known as one of the best 6-7 day treks in the divine land of Uttarakhand, it offers panoramic views, snow-clad trails, and spiritual charm that captivates every trekker’s soul.
 
📌 MANDATORY: A valid Trekking Medical Certificate (issued within 30 days), signed and stamped by an MBBS/MD doctor, must be submitted at the time of reporting. Carry Xerox copies of Admit Card, Membership Card, ID Proof, and Original Medical Certificate.

YHAI ensures nutritious, pure vegetarian meals throughout the trek. Meals include:
☕ Morning tea, 🍽️ Breakfast, 🍱 Packed lunch, 🍛 Dinner.
🔸 Participants must bring their plate, mug, and spoon.

1. Trekking Shoes (waterproof, high-ankle, nonskid)
2. Sandals/Chappals (washable & quick-dry)
3. Cotton & woolen socks (4 pairs), lightweight trousers (no jeans/cargo), innerwear
4. Cotton T-shirts (half & full sleeves), full trek suit
5. Windcheater, raincoat set, sweater, warm jacket
6. Woolen & waterproof gloves, throat cover, caps (sun/woolen), polarized sunglasses
7. Walking stick, Rucksack (or request one from YHAI)
8. Torch (with spare batteries), thermal flask, water bottle, purifier
9. Leak-proof lunch box, plate, mug, spoon
10. Sewing kit (needle/thread/buttons), toilet paper, towel, soap, toothbrush & paste
11. Boroline/Vaseline, sunscreen (SPF 30+), pen, notebook
12. Passport-size photos, ID proof (original + copy), membership card (printout accepted)

🔐 Safety & Security
 
Your safety is our priority. YHAI teams conduct thorough route checks and campsite planning. However, YHAI is not liable for any accident, illness, or unforeseen incident. Any extra activities beyond the program are done at personal risk and cost after checkout.
 
⚠️ Important Notes for Participants
 
1. Strictly No: Smoking, alcohol, and narcotics.
2. No outside stays allowed during the program.
3. Maintain eco-friendly trekking: Carry back any litter.
4. Burning wood is prohibited; plastic import is an offense in Uttarakhand.
 
🗓️ Special Casual Leave
 
YHAI treks are approved for Special Casual Leave under Govt. of India Order No. 28016/3/89-Estt (A) dated 25 Oct 1989. Central Govt. employees can apply for leave up to 30 days per calendar year.

Justice T.P.S. Chawla Memorial Scholarship
For underprivileged girls with family income below ₹1,00,000/year.

Siddharth ‘Off the Beaten Track’ Scholarship
50% program fee concession for underprivileged youth (men & women below 30 years)
🔹 Family income must be below ₹2,50,000/year.
🔹 Apply via the YHAI National Office through your State Branch with valid income proof.
 
Day Wise Schedule
 
Day 1: Reporting at Base Camp Loha Jung.
Day 2: Acclimatization walk, Orientation.
Day 3: Trek to Bekaltal camp(9931 ft)/Telandi Camp (10170 ft) from Loha Jung Base
Camp (7.5 km), 5-6 hours Aprox.

Day 4: Trek to Brahma Tal camp (10456 ft), from Bekaltal/ Telandi camp. (7 km) 6 hours Aprox.
Day 5: Trek to Begam tok (4975 ft) From Brahma Tal camp, via Brahma Tal
Top (12175 ft) and Jhandi Top 11227 ft (8.5 km’s). 7 hours Aprox.
Day 6: Trek Base Camp Lohajung via Begam village(8900 ft,5 km Aprox).
Day 7: Group breaks after breakfast.
Total round Trekking Route- 32 km. (approx.)

👥 Who Can Participate?
This trek is open to all YHAI members aged between 18 to 60 years. YHAI membership is mandatory and age limits will be strictly followed. Underage or overage participants will not be considered under any circumstances.
 
📄 A Trekking Medical Certificate (issued within the last 30 days and signed by a registered MBBS/MD doctor) is compulsory at the time of reporting.

🔹 Online Booking:
Members can register through www.yhaindia.org
by paying the program fee of ₹9500 via UPI, Net Banking or debit/Credit Card.
🎟️ After successful payment, the Admit Card will be generated.
 
Participants must carry:
1. 2 copies of Admit Card
2. Original Trekking Medical Certificate (valid for 30 days only)
3. YHAI Membership Card (printout accepted)

Cancellation Policy
 
Cancellation Method:
 
1) Participants booked online will do online cancellation at least 10 days prior to their reporting date.
2) Participants booked offline will inform their cancellation by email to trekking@yhaindia.org minimum 10 days prior to their reporting date.
Only cancellation done as per above method will be eligible for credit shell/refund. The below cancellation policy will however not be applicable if the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date and shall not be eligible for credit shell/refund.
 
Cancellation Policy:
 
The Participant, who cancels the programme by serving request minimum 10 days prior to his/her reporting date as per above terms and conditions of “Cancellation Method”, is eligible to get the credit shell or refund as follows:
 
(a) Credit Shell:-
 
1) In case you are unable to join the programme due to any reason, you will get a 100% Credit Shell of the participation fees which will be valid till December 2025.
2) If the next programme opted by you is cheaper, you may use the balance amount in any of the Trek till Dec 2025.
3) If the next opted programme is costlier, the trekker has to pay the differential amount.
4) Program opted using the Credit Shell cannot be cancelled again.
5) You may transfer your seat to your family members and friends also. The seats thus transferred cannot be retransferred or cancelled.
6) The credit shell can only be used in booking of adventure programs organized by YHAI. The credit shell will not be used in taking memberships and hostel bookings.
 
OR
 
(b) Refund:-
 
Participants can opt for a 50% refund instead of 100% credit shell if they wish to. The conditions of “Cancellation Method” will be the same as mentioned above. The participant has to inform either offline or online minimum 10 days prior to his reporting date. If the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date the refund request shall not be considered.
 
Note: If any program will be cancelled due to Natural Calamity / Government Restriction / Cancellation of Permission or any other reasons, YHAI will be accountable only for program fees and not other expenses which participants have made for joining the program. In these circumstances the decision for participation fees will be considered by the YHAI and will be bound to all.
