The Sundarban is the largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world. The Sundarban is a UNESCO World Heritage Site covering parts of Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal.

Breif Description Of The Program :
The Sundarban is the largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world. The Sundarban is a UNESCO World Heritage Site covering parts of Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal. The Sundarban National Park is a national park, Tiger Reserved, and a biosphere Reserved located in the sundarban delta in the Indian State Of West Bengal. This Region in Densely Covered by Mangrove Forests, and is one of the Largest Reserved For the Royal Bengal Tiger. Sundarban also offers you an experience of various nos of bird species, estuarine crocodiles, wild pigs, spotted deer etc.
 
Day Wise Schedule:
Day 1 : Reporting at Youth Hostels Moulali Yuba Kendra after 3.00 P.M (Base Camp)
Day 2 : After breakfast Transfer by Bus from ‘moulali Yuba Kendra’ To Sonakhali & Board At Launch / Boat & Proceed To Sundarban Area Via Gosaba ( Hamilton & Rabindranath Tagore’s Bunglow ) , Pakhiralay, Dayapur Bird Sanctuary , Overnight Stay at Pakhiralay (Hotel). At evening Cultural Activities by the participants.
Day 3 : Visit sundarban dense forest area by launch- Sajnekhali Watch Tower , Sudhanyakhali W/t, Pir Khali, Gajikhali, Nowbanki , Deulvarani, Bonobibi Varani, Panchamukhi River Point, Dowbanki W/t, Overnight Stay At Pakhiralay (hotel). Valedictory Session.
Special Attraction : Local Tribal Dance At Evening
Day 4 : Visit Sundarban dense forest area by Launch. Experience the thrilling ride Indian Amazon through the narrow waterways of the forest to see the wildlife. The forest is very rich in biodiversity and supports different species of about 334 plants, 120 fishes, 35 reptiles, 270 birds and 42 mammals. The Sundarbans is the only habitat of the famous Royal Bengal Tiger and estuarine crocodile. Overnight Stay at Pakhiralay (Hotel)
Day 5 : Vidya River , Jharkhali Tiger Rescue Centre, Butterfly Garden, Canning / Sonakhali And Transfer By Bus To Calcutta Central Esplaned Bus Terminus And Groups Break.
 
Who Can Participate : Only YHAI Member can be participated.
How To Reach The Base Camp : Nearest Railway Station Howrah / Sealdha / Kolkata / Santragachi / Salimar and Nearest Airport Dumdum. By Bus or Taxi to State Youth Centre, Youth Hostel Moulali, 142/3,A.J.C Bose Road, Moulali,Kolkata-700014

Accommodation Facilities : Shearing Basic.
Food & Water Supplies : Only Nutritious Vegetarian Foods will be provided.

Additional Notes: Smoking and Use of Alcohol and Narcotics or any description are strictly prohibited during the trekking program. Camera Charges and Entry Ticket for some places will be provided by the participants only. Carry your address proof and Photo Id.
 
What Participants Should Bring Along : Shirt and pant , Wincheater, Inner Garments, Shoe and Chhaple, Sun Cap, Sun Glass, Sun Crème, Torch, Water Bottle and water purifier, Toilet Paper, Medicine ( which you normaly use at home) , Vaseline, Soap, Pen And Book, Camera, Etc.
 
Safety & Security: Extensive and painstaking preparations have done into the planning of routes for your safety. Our Field Staffs have been visiting the area to check all in details, every care has been taken to ensure safety. Youth Hostels Association of India West Bengal State Branch Can Not Be Held Responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen casualties. If Participants desire to join and other activities they may do so at their own cost and responsibility and only after finishing the program and checking out.
 
Cancellation Rules : In case you are unable to join this expedition you will get a refund of 50% Rs.4250/- provided your request is received Clearly One Month Before (excluding Day Of Reporting) From The Day Of Reporting. After this date no refund application will be considered. Any unforeseen event /strike or natural calamity will not be considered as a cause of cancellation. Refund will be given after completion of the program 30 to 40 working days.
