BREIF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM: Discovering the Hidden Gems of Satara Region

Nestled amidst the lush Sahyadris, the region around Satara is a treasure trove of history, natural beauty, and rural charm. From mighty forts to tranquil lakes and quaint villages, each destination tells a unique story.

Pratapgad – A majestic hill fort built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1656, Pratapgad stands as a proud symbol of Maratha valor. Surrounded by dense forests and commanding sweeping views of the Western Ghats, it is a must-visit for history lovers and trekkers alike.

Par Village – A serene hamlet known for its rustic appeal and friendly locals, Par Village offers a glimpse into traditional Maharashtrian countryside life, away from the chaos of the cities.

Hatlot Village – Nestled amidst rolling hills, Hatlot is a quiet and scenic spot, often used as a base for treks to nearby forts and trails. The village exudes old-world charm and offers a peaceful rural experience.

Birmani Choure Pathar – A vast plateau surrounded by greenery, Birmani Choure Pathar is a hidden gem known for its panoramic views and wildflowers during the monsoon. It’s an ideal stop for nature walks and photography.

Shivsagar Lake – Formed by the backwaters of the Koyna Dam, Shivsagar Lake is surrounded by dense forest and towering peaks. It serves as the gateway to the famous Vasota Fort and offers pristine natural beauty, ideal for camping and boating.

ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES: Sharing- Rooms/dorms/tents.

FOOD & WATER SUPPLIES: Morning Tea, Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Tea, Dinner shall be provided. Refillable water source is available.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALONG: Clothes, personal medication, Toiletries, Sunscreen, Cap, comfortable shoes, hiking pole (Optional), day pack, water bottle, Tiffin box, mug, plate, spoon, bowl, medical certificate, YHAI Membership Card.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: Consumption of alcohol, narcotics, chewing of tobacco is strictly prohibited.

In case of any dispute, the jurisdiction shall lie in the Courts in Mumbai only.

 
Day Wise Schedule
 

Day 1: Reporting at Pratapgad Base Wada Kumbharoshi. Visit Shivkalin Museum. (3 kms)

Day 2: Trek to Fort Pratapgad (4 Kms)and proceed to village Par (4 Kms)

Day 3: Trek to Par to Dhangar Wadi (Tribal Hamlet) via Bramhaaranya (Forest) and Choure Pathar (Plateau) (9 kms)

Par to Bramhaaranya (Forest) (3.5 Kms)

Bramhaaranya to Hatlot via Dhangar Wadi and Choure Pathar (5.5 Kms)

Day 4: Trek from Hatlot to Makrandgad via Ghonaspur and back (5 kms)Ghonaspur to Mohan Dhabe (3 kms)

Ghonaspur to Bamnoli boat ride (1.5 hours)

Day 5: Bamnoli to Fort Vasota (1 hour boat ride ) and back

Trek from Shivsagar Lake to Vasota Fort and back

Day 6: Check-out after Breakfast

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? 15 years to 60 years of age.

HOW TO REACH THE BASE CAMP: Nearest Airport Pune/Kolhapur.

Nearest Railway Station – Satara – 45 kms.

Well connected by bus/Train from Mumbai (260 kms) /Pune(120 kms)/ Satara (45 kms).

Wada Kumbharoshi is 15 kms from Mahabaleshwar Bus stand and has good bus connectivity. Our leaders shall guide you at the time of arrival.

HOW TO JOIN: The program booking will be done offline – through bank account transfer/QR Code/deposits to registered YHAI Bank Account.

SAFETY & SECURITY: Shall be briefed about the do’s and don’ts during group briefing.

Care and all safety measures shall be taken by the team of the units, however, the Units or its members/leaders shall not be responsible in case of any mishap or untoward incidence.

 
Cancellation Policy
 

CANCELLATION RULES: 1. The seat is 100% transferable with prior notice.

2. 60% Refund on cancellations received 15 days prior to the reporting

date of the program or can claim credit voucher valid till 31st

December, 2026 for participation in Programs organized by

Thane/Navi Mumbai Units only.

3. No Refund on any cancellation received on less than 14 days prior to

the date of reporting
