🌿 Kullu–Foota Saur Nature Study Program – Overview
Experience the serene beauty of Himachal Pradesh with the Kullu–Foota Saur Nature Study Program, designed to offer participants an exciting blend of adventure, trekking, cultural exposure, and environmental learning. Starting from the scenic base camp at Kullu/Dobhi, this 7-day program takes you through dense forests, traditional Himalayan villages, snow-covered meadows, and the majestic landscapes of the Kullu Valley.

Participants will trek to iconic locations such as the Bijli Mahadev Temple, explore the beautiful Ubla Thatch, and enjoy the pristine snowfields of Foota Saur at 10,500 ft. Along the way, the program focuses on acclimatization, nature study, group activities, adventure learning, and immersive outdoor experiences.

The journey concludes with an exciting adventure activity, cultural evening, and campfire, creating unforgettable memories for all.

Flora: Lush Deodar, Pine & Oak forests, alpine meadows, Rhododendron patches, and high-altitude Himalayan wildflowers 🌸

🚍 Reaching Base Camp – Seobagh

  1. By Road: 3 km from Kullu ISBT
  2. From Manali: Get off at Gammon Bridge (2 km from camp)
  3. Nearest Airport: Bhuntar
  4. Nearest Railway Stations: Chandigarh / Ambala
  5. Buses: Regular from Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab

Important Notes 📜

  1. Follow the schedule strictly; extra activities at your own risk.
  2. No stay outside YHAI camp.
  3. Keep the environment clean—no littering.
  4. Wood burning for campfires is prohibited.
  5. Certificates 🏅: Given to participants who complete the trek and follow the rules.

Leave & Scholarships 🏅

  1. Special Casual Leave: Available for Central Govt. employees (up to 30 days).
  2. Justice TPS Chawla Scholarship: For underprivileged girls (family income < Rs. 1,00,000/year).
  3. Siddharth Scholarship: 50% off program fee for underprivileged young men & women (<30, family income < Rs. 2,50,000/year).

Day Wise Schedule
 

🌄 Program Itinerary – Kullu–Foota Saur Nature Study Adventure
Day 1: Arrive at Kullu/Dobhi Base Camp for registration, orientation, and fun acclimatization activities to kickstart your Himalayan adventure.Day 2: Drive to Chansari Village and trek to the iconic Bijli Mahadev Temple (4 km), offering breathtaking valley views; return to base camp by evening.Day 3: Head to Matikochar / Farme / Kotadhar and begin your trek to the serene Ubla Thatch (5 km); settle into cozy tents under the stars.

Day 4: Trek to the magical snowfields of Foota Saur (10,500 ft) and enjoy a day of snowy landscapes before returning to Ubla Thatch for another night in tents.

Day 5: Descend back to the village point and drive to the base camp for a relaxed evening.

Day 6: Enjoy exciting rope-based adventure activities, followed by a vibrant cultural programme and warm campfire night.

Day 7: Check out after breakfast with unforgettable memories and a heart full of Himalayas.

Cancellation Policy

✅ Cancellation Method:

1️⃣ Participants booked online will do online cancellation minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.

2️⃣ Participants booked offline will inform their cancellation by email to 📧 trekking@yhaindia.org minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.

⚠️ Only cancellation done as per above method will be eligible for credit shell/refund. The below cancellation policy will however not be applicable if the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date and shall not be eligible for credit shell/refund.

📜 Cancellation Policy:

The Participant, who cancels the programme by serving request minimum 10 days prior to his/her reporting date as per above terms and conditions of “Cancellation Method”, is eligible to get the credit shell or refund as follows:

(a) Credit Shell:-

✔️ In case you are unable to join the programme due to any reason, you will get a 100% Credit Shell of the participation fees which will be valid till 31st December 2026.

✔️ If the next programme opted by you is cheaper, you may use the balance amount in any of the Trek till Dec 2026.

✔️ If the next opted programme is costlier, the trekker has to pay the differential amount.

⛔ Program opted using the Credit Shell cannot be cancelled again.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 You may transfer your seat to your family members and friends also. The seats thus transferred cannot be retransferred or cancelled.

🎯 The credit shell can only be used in booking of adventure programs organized by YHAI. The credit shell will not be used in taking memberships and hostel bookings.

(b) Refund:-

💵 Participants can opt for a 50% refund instead of 100% credit shell if they wish to. The conditions of “Cancellation Method” will be the same as mentioned above. The participant has to inform either offline or online minimum 10 days prior to his reporting date. If the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date the refund request shall not be considered.

📝 Note: If any program will be cancelled due to 🌪️ Natural Calamity / 🏛️ Government Restriction / ❌ Cancellation of Permission or any other reasons, YHAI will be accountable only for program fees and not other expenses which participants have made for joining the program. In these circumstances the decision for participation fees will be considered by the YHAI and will be bound to all.
