About the Program:

For 48 years, YHA India has been organizing National Himalayan Trekking Expeditions. This year, we’re bringing you a National Mountain Biking Expedition from Aut to Jalori Pass & Tirthan Valley and back – a journey full of adventure and memories!

Purpose:

🚴‍♂️ Mountain Biking Adventure:

  1. Introduce YHAI members to mountain biking as a thrilling outdoor sport and a green transport alternative to reduce city congestion and pollution. 🌍
  2. It\\\\’s the second-best non-impact exercise after swimming! 🏊‍♂️
  3. Promote National Integration through the joy of adventure sports.

  1. Jalori Pass: A steady climb with stunning views of the snow-capped Dhauladhar ranges. 🏞️❄️
  2. Cycle through the Tirthan Valley and UNESCO World Heritage Site – Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP). 🌲🦅
  3. Pass through scenic towns & villages like Sojha & Jibhi – as beautiful as any European mountain vistas! 🇮🇳🌄
  4. challenging route surrounded by the breathtaking greenery of Himachal Pradesh. 🌳🌿

Day Wise Schedule

National Mountain Biking Expedition 🚴‍♂️

Day 1: Arrival at Aut Base Camp (3500 ft)

🛑 Report at Aut Base Camp near Mehak Dry Fruits. Enjoy the scenic beauty with River Beas and mountains. Rest day.

Day 2: Acclimatization & Training

🏃‍♀️ Morning exercise and a walk to a beautiful village for altitude gain.

🚴‍♂️ Evening cycling session: Learn about gears, safety rules, and receive cycles and gear.

Day 3: Biking to Manglore (20 kms, 4000 ft)

🚴‍♂️ Cycle through Jalori tunnel, crossing bridges and rivers.

🥪 Packed lunch under a tree or near a stream. Visit Banjar & Fagu Puul nearby.

Day 4: Biking to Jibhi (17 kms, 6000 ft)

🚴‍♂️ Cycle through winding roads and lush greenery.

🌳 Jibhi campsite is beautiful and surrounded by waterfalls to relax after cycling.

Day 5: Biking to Sojha (8 kms, 8500 ft)

🚴‍♂️ Enjoy breathtaking views of snow-capped Dhauladhar ranges.

🥾 Steep hairpin bends challenge you! Relax and explore nature trails in Sojha.

Day 6: Visit Jalori Pass (10,000 ft) & Biking to Tirthan Valley Camp (23 km, 5000 ft)

🏞️ Visit UNESCO World Heritage Site – The Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP).

📸 A paradise for bird photography & trekkers.

Day 7: Biking back to Aut Base Camp (31 km, 3500 ft)

🏁 Cycle back to Aut. Certificate distribution at the camp!

Day 8: Group breaks after breakfast

Important Notes:

🚨 Route/schedule may change based on local conditions.

How to Reach:

🚌 Base camp is at Aut on Kullu-Manali Highway, 28 km from Kullu. Direct buses from Delhi, Chandigarh, and other parts.

Eligibility:

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Age 15-65, YHAI membership required.

📜 Trekking Medical Certificate needed for participation.

What to Bring:

👕 Dress Code: Padded shorts, cycling jersey, dry-fit T-shirts, cycling gloves, rain jacket, sports shoes.

📑 Documents: 2 ID copies, Trekking Admit Card, Medical certificate, 2 passport photos, Membership Card.

🎒 Essentials: Cycling glasses, sipper, small tiffin, plate, spoon, towel, soap, personal medications, camera, personal helmet (if you have one).

YHAI Provided Equipment:

🚲 MTB cycle, helmet, knee & elbow guards, cycling gloves, rucksack, reflector jackets.

⚠️ Bring your own personal gloves/helmet if preferred.

Facts

Special Cases:

🩺 If medically fit and a regular cyclist, you may register offline (subject to management discretion and seat availability). You’ll need to submit an Indemnity Bond along with your Registration Form.

How to Participate:

Online Booking:

  1. Apply online with a fee of ₹7500 (without transport cost) at www.yhaindia.org 🌐
  2. Payment via Net BankingDebit/Credit Cards 💳
  3. After payment, your Admit Card will be generated.
  4. Bring Admit CardTrekking Medical Certificate, and Membership Card (or temporary membership card) when reporting at Base Camp. 🏕️

Offline Booking:

  1. Fill out the Trekking Registration Form and attach the Trekking Medical Certificate.

Cancellation Policy

✅ Cancellation Method:

1️⃣ Participants booked online will do online cancellation minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.

2️⃣ Participants booked offline will inform their cancellation by email to 📧 trekking@yhaindia.org minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.

⚠️ Only cancellation done as per above method will be eligible for credit shell/refund. The below cancellation policy will however not be applicable if the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date and shall not be eligible for credit shell/refund.

📜 Cancellation Policy:

The Participant, who cancels the programme by serving request minimum 10 days prior to his/her reporting date as per above terms and conditions of “Cancellation Method”, is eligible to get the credit shell or refund as follows:

(a) Credit Shell:-

✔️ In case you are unable to join the programme due to any reason, you will get a 100% Credit Shell of the participation fees which will be valid till 31st December 2026.

✔️ If the next programme opted by you is cheaper, you may use the balance amount in any of the Trek till Dec 2026.

✔️ If the next opted programme is costlier, the trekker has to pay the differential amount.

⛔ Program opted using the Credit Shell cannot be cancelled again.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 You may transfer your seat to your family members and friends also. The seats thus transferred cannot be retransferred or cancelled.

🎯 The credit shell can only be used in booking of adventure programs organised by YHAI. The credit shell will not be used in taking memberships and hostel bookings.

OR

(b) Refund:-

💵 Participants can opt for a 50% refund instead of 100% credit shell if they wish to. The conditions of “Cancellation Method” will be the same as mentioned above. The participant has to inform either offline or online minimum 10 days prior to his reporting date. If the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date the refund request shall not be considered.

📝 Note: If any program will be cancelled due to 🌪️ Natural Calamity / 🏛️ Government Restriction / ❌ Cancellation of Permission or any other reasons, YHAI will be accountable only for program fees and not other expenses which participants have made for joining the program. In these circumstances the decision for participation fees will be considered by the YHAI and will be bound to all.
